Greenleaf Friends Academy is a private Christian school serving students in preschool through twelfth grade. Founded in 1908, the Academy is dedicated to the task of providing distinctly Christian education for its students. The Christian worldview controls all areas of the school. Sponsored by the Friends Church, GFA is accredited by the State of Idaho through AdvancEd and is a member of Idaho High School Activities Association.

Director of Advancement

Greenleaf Friends Academy is a thriving classical Christian school in rural Idaho. Founded in 1908, GFA is seeking a full-time Director of Advancement to help grow our school. The Director of Advancement will do this in primarily two ways: by building and delivering an effective marketing strategy to recruit families that are aligned to GFA’s core mission; and to foster relationships in the broader community to increase support for our school’s vital mission.

A successful director will be a highly relational fundraiser with the capacity to foster transformational donor relationships, plan and execute on a comprehensive advancement strategy, and serve as the community-facing first contact for GFA.

The ideal candidate would be a strong leader with a clear vision for an advancement program that supports the greater mission of our school to cultivate virtue and mature Christian character in the lives of our students. Any prospective applicant must have a strong passion for classical Christian education and should be able to articulate their passion in a way that is powerful and persuasive.

Responsibilities
  • Cultivate relationships with donors, alumni, and parents to advance the school’s mission
  • Oversee a yearly Annual Fund campaign that encourages the school community to give and expands the network of supporters beyond the immediate school community.
  • Work to connect the Head of School with key donors and facilitate meetings and relationships to strengthen engagement and financial support
  • Manage donor relationships, including acknowledgment and recognition processes and follow through on donations and grants, and also to include establishing an alumni association to maintain relationships with The Academy’s alumni base
  • Create and lead the planning, promotion, and execution of fundraising events to include the annual benefit auction, the annual gala, and year end and summer giving campaigns
  • Research and write grants with corporations, foundations and other grant-giving entities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong and proven interpersonal skills, including top-tier written and oral communication skills
  • Strong time management and work prioritization skills with the ability to work independently
  • Strong orientation towards details and the ability to work well leading a team and coordinating volunteers
  • Strong active listening skills and the ability to develop a rapport and build relationships with a diverse group of people
  • Strong follow through on commitments in a timely manner
  • Proficient in applicable computer programs like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a high-energy environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Greenleaf Friends Academy is seeking an Upper School Humanities teacher to join our faculty team. The ideal candidate will have a vibrant and observable faith in the Lord Jesus, a passion for discipling students, a demonstrable love of learning, the ability to inspire students to pursue excellence, and a willingness to learn more about classical Christian education and implement classical methodologies into their own classroom instruction. Any candidate must be open to teaching according to an integrated approach to the humanities – history, literature, theology, art, music, philosophy, etc. – and must show a desire to be part of our school community. A bachelor’s degree in history, literature, philosophy, theology, or a related field is preferred, and a graduate degree is highly valued. State certification is preferred but not required.
Greenleaf Friends Academy is seeking Grammar School teachers to join our growing faculty team. The ideal candidate will have a vibrant and observable faith in the Lord Jesus, a passion for discipling students, a demonstrable love of learning, the ability to inspire students to pursue excellence, and a willingness to learn more about classical Christian education and implement classical methodologies into their own classroom instruction. Our Grammar School teachers partner with families to cultivate virtue in the lives of their students as they pursue excellence in all that they do. The ideal candidate will have classroom experience, especially in a classical Christian school, and will possess a teachable heart with a love for Christian community. A bachelor’s degree and a state teaching certification are preferred but not required.
Greenleaf Friends Academy is seeking an Upper School House Governor to lead our growing House Program. The ideal candidate will have a vibrant and observable faith in the Lord Jesus, a passion for discipling students, a demonstrable love of learning, the ability to inspire students to pursue excellence, and a willingness to learn more about classical Christian education and implement classical methodologies into their own leadership and instruction. The ideal candidate would have a gift for building community and would be familiar with a social dance/cotillion model and able to call a dance for teenagers. They would also be able to teach Upper School classes approximately half-time and must show a desire to be part of our school community. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and a graduate degree is highly valued. State certification is preferred but not required.
Greenleaf Friends Academy is seeking a Physical Education Teacher to join our Grammar School faculty team. The ideal candidate will have a vibrant and observable faith in the Lord Jesus, a passion for discipling students, a demonstrable love of learning, the ability to inspire students to pursue excellence, and a willingness to learn more about classical Christian education and implement classical methodologies into their own instruction. Any candidate must show a desire to be part of our school community and a love for physical activity, play, and the cultivation of self-control and discipline. This is a part-time position and state certification is not required.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cross Country Coach to join our team at Greenleaf Friends Academy, a Classical Christian Academy committed to academic excellence and the development of character through athletics. This coach will be responsible for leading our cross country program, fostering a competitive spirit, and nurturing student-athletes in a Christian environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and lead cross country practices and competitions.
  • Develop training schedules and ensure effective preparation for meets.
  • Mentor student-athletes, emphasizing Christian values, discipline, and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with school administration to ensure academic and athletic success.
  • Promote the program and build community support.

Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience, preferably in cross country or distance running.
  • Strong knowledge of cross country training methods and race strategies.
  • A passion for working with young athletes in a Christian setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
