Greenleaf Friends Academy is a private Christian school serving students in preschool through twelfth grade. Founded in 1908, the Academy is dedicated to the task of providing distinctly Christian education for its students. The Christian worldview controls all areas of the school. Sponsored by the Friends Church, GFA is accredited by the State of Idaho through AdvancEd and is a member of Idaho High School Activities Association.

Upper School Humanities Teacher
Greenleaf Friends Academy is seeking an Upper School Humanities teacher to join our faculty team. The ideal candidate will have a vibrant and observable faith in the Lord Jesus, a passion for discipling students, a demonstrable love of learning, the ability to inspire students to pursue excellence, and a willingness to learn more about classical Christian education and implement classical methodologies into their own classroom instruction. Any candidate must be open to teaching according to an integrated approach to the humanities – history, literature, theology, art, music, philosophy, etc. – and must show a desire to be part of our school community. A bachelor’s degree in history, literature, philosophy, theology, or a related field is preferred, and a graduate degree is highly valued. State certification is preferred but not required.
Greenleaf Friends Academy is seeking Grammar School teachers to join our growing faculty team. The ideal candidate will have a vibrant and observable faith in the Lord Jesus, a passion for discipling students, a demonstrable love of learning, the ability to inspire students to pursue excellence, and a willingness to learn more about classical Christian education and implement classical methodologies into their own classroom instruction. Our Grammar School teachers partner with families to cultivate virtue in the lives of their students as they pursue excellence in all that they do. The ideal candidate will have classroom experience, especially in a classical Christian school, and will possess a teachable heart with a love for Christian community. A bachelor’s degree and a state teaching certification are preferred but not required.
Greenleaf Friends Academy is seeking an Upper School House Governor to lead our growing House Program. The ideal candidate will have a vibrant and observable faith in the Lord Jesus, a passion for discipling students, a demonstrable love of learning, the ability to inspire students to pursue excellence, and a willingness to learn more about classical Christian education and implement classical methodologies into their own leadership and instruction. The ideal candidate would have a gift for building community and would be familiar with a social dance/cotillion model and able to call a dance for teenagers. They would also be able to teach Upper School classes approximately half-time and must show a desire to be part of our school community. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and a graduate degree is highly valued. State certification is preferred but not required.
Greenleaf Friends Academy is seeking a Physical Education Teacher to join our Grammar School faculty team. The ideal candidate will have a vibrant and observable faith in the Lord Jesus, a passion for discipling students, a demonstrable love of learning, the ability to inspire students to pursue excellence, and a willingness to learn more about classical Christian education and implement classical methodologies into their own instruction. Any candidate must show a desire to be part of our school community and a love for physical activity, play, and the cultivation of self-control and discipline. This is a part-time position and state certification is not required.

Our classical Christian academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Softball Coach to lead and inspire our student-athletes. The ideal candidate will have experience in coaching, a strong understanding of the game, and a commitment to fostering an environment that emphasizes both athletic excellence and Christian values.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct practices, ensuring proper skill development and team building.
  • Lead the team in competitive games and tournaments.
  • Foster a Christ-centered, team-first attitude in all players.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and games.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, administration, and student-athletes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience coaching softball at the high school level (preferred).
  • Knowledge of softball fundamentals and strategies.
  • Ability to inspire and mentor students both athletically and spiritually.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Must agree with the values and mission of our classical Christian academy.

Greenleaf Friends Academy is seeking a passionate and skilled Volleyball Coach to lead and inspire our student-athletes in a Christ-centered environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in coaching volleyball, a heart for mentoring young athletes, and a deep commitment to the values of our classical Christian education program.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach the volleyball team during practices and competitions.
  • Foster an environment of teamwork, discipline, and excellence.
  • Encourage the spiritual, physical, and emotional growth of student-athletes.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to develop a holistic athletic program.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful relationship with students, parents, and faculty.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of volleyball and coaching strategies.
  • Previous experience in coaching volleyball, ideally at the high school level or above.
  • A personal commitment to the Christian faith and the mission of the academy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cross Country Coach to join our team at Greenleaf Friends Academy, a Classical Christian Academy committed to academic excellence and the development of character through athletics. This coach will be responsible for leading our cross country program, fostering a competitive spirit, and nurturing student-athletes in a Christian environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and lead cross country practices and competitions.
  • Develop training schedules and ensure effective preparation for meets.
  • Mentor student-athletes, emphasizing Christian values, discipline, and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with school administration to ensure academic and athletic success.
  • Promote the program and build community support.

Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience, preferably in cross country or distance running.
  • Strong knowledge of cross country training methods and race strategies.
  • A passion for working with young athletes in a Christian setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
